Briefly discusses what an ontology is before focusing on querying a database via an ontology. Fairly dismissive of the Semantic Web as a pipe dream- but the description of how ontologies work in practice (in the context of querying a database) may be quite useful to those who have only been lectured on the topic of ontologies in an abstract, theoretical manner.
